Decorative handcrafted keychains
Keep your keys ordered and stylish with one of these eye-catching African beaded keychains that have been hand-beaded by woman designers in the framework of Kar Geno’s Hope Designers programme. These handmade key fobs are a handy and decorative way to hold your home, car, and office keys. Alternatively, you could use them to attach to your bag or purse, giving it an exotic twist. Since exact designs vary, no two keychains are alike.
Made from African beads
Made with African beads, these designer keychains relate to Africa history. Beads have long played a prominent role in Africa, and are among the most important symbols in African culture. For instance, it is known that various Turkana tribes used beads as a form of currency. The color of the beads often has a meaning. Although this meaning could vary, generally red signifies bravery, green indicates abundance, yellow means high rank, and white represents peace. Many of the keychains in this collection use the colors of the Kenyan flag, where the black symbolizes Kenyan people, red, the blood in relation to the fight for independence, green, the country’s natural landscape, and white, peace and honesty.
