Our Partners
We value greatly our local and global partners who support us in numerous ways. Without these partnerships we would not be able to do all the work that we do.

Mathkind Global
Our organization works closely with schools and community adult education learning centres for both primary and secondary schools. Since there is a shortage of teachers and a great need for volunteer educators to help with teaching in our schools to supplement the teaching staff, we partnered with Mathkind Global to bring educators from the USA to our local schools. This is a ten day professional and cultural exchange programme during which Mathkind observe classroom activities, teach the students and conduct workshops for our teachers in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics).

Students for International Development (SID)
SID Canada helps Kar Geno to recruit qualified international students who have a specific interest in community development initiatives and want to do an internship in this field. SID advertises the available posts, interviews the potential candidates and organises their placement with Kar Geno.

The Village Volunteers
Village Volunteers (VV) is a key partner organization based in Seattle, Washington, USA, and serves as the fiscal sponsor for Kar Geno. VV plays a critical role in supporting Kar Geno’s mission by matching the organization with professional volunteers who bring specialized skills and expertise to the community. This partnership has enabled Kar Geno to leverage the talents of volunteers across various fields, strengthening its capacity to address the unique challenges faced by the marginalized communities it serves in Western Kenya. In addition to facilitating volunteer placements, Village Volunteers is instrumental in helping Kar Geno secure funding for sustainable projects. Their support in fundraising has been vital to ensuring the long-term success and impact of initiatives such as community empowerment programs, healthcare projects, and environmental conservation efforts. One of the most exciting aspects of the partnership is VV’s focus on supporting Kar Geno’s Moringa project. Recognizing the potential of Moringa as a highly valuable and nutritious product, Village Volunteers is keen to assist Kar Geno in expanding its market opportunities for Moringa, which could have a significant positive economic impact on local communities. By connecting Kar Geno with broader markets and helping them access professional networks, VV is helping turn this project into a successful, sustainable venture that not only benefits local farmers but also enhances food security and economic development. Village Volunteers is bringing new approaches to volunteer engagement, positioning Kar Geno to expand its outreach and impact, while also helping the organization grow and thrive in its mission to restore hope and empower communities in Western Kenya.

Better Me Kenya
Better Me Kenya is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting HIV-positive children and women. The organization plays a vital role in Kar Geno’s mission by partnering with us on the Hope Designers project, a women’s tailoring initiative. Better Me Kenya helps empower women by purchasing the items made through the tailoring project and marketing these products, with proceeds going towards supporting educational programs for HIV-positive children and women. Through this collaboration, Better Me Kenya provides not only a market for the handmade items but also the opportunity for women involved in the tailoring project to gain financial independence and skills that contribute to their personal empowerment. The products made by the women are marketed to raise funds that directly benefit educational initiatives, giving both the women and children they support an opportunity for a brighter future. Better Me Kenya’s commitment to supporting HIV-positive individuals aligns closely with Kar Geno’s vision of restoring hope and creating sustainable livelihoods. By working together, we ensure that these women and children have access to both immediate resources and long-term educational opportunities, fostering a cycle of hope and progress in the communities we serve.
