Organic Poultry Project
The Organic Poultry Project is designed to empower women by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to manage sustainable poultry farming. This initiative focuses on providing comprehensive training to women, enabling them to start and manage their own poultry businesses with a focus on organic and healthy practices.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Poultry Management Training: We provide women with essential training on poultry farming, including proper feeding, breeding, and care for their flocks to ensure productivity and sustainability.
- Disease Detection, Prevention, and Management: We equip women with the skills to detect common poultry diseases, as well as strategies for prevention and effective management to keep their birds healthy and reduce losses.
- Business and Financial Management: Our training includes financial literacy, bookkeeping, and the development of savings and maintenance funds within the project, so women can ensure the long-term sustainability of their businesses.
- Linking Women with Markets: We connect trained women with local and regional markets, ensuring they have a reliable outlet to sell their poultry products, thereby increasing their income opportunities.
- Construction of Chicken Pens: We mobilize funds to help women construct proper, hygienic chicken pens that are essential for a successful poultry farm, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the birds.
The Organic Poultry Project is not only about creating income-generating opportunities but also fostering self-reliance and empowerment among women. By providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed in poultry farming, we are helping them build a sustainable livelihood while promoting healthy, organic poultry production in the community.
